My transition into motherhood was nothing like I imagined.
After two miscarriages, I carried my pregnancy with fear. I didn't even prepare my home—I wasn't sure my baby would make it here.
I wanted a natural birth.
But I had a C-section.
I was in pain.
struggling with breastfeeding.
Completely overwhelmed.”
Before leaving the hospital, I sat with a nurse for hours trying to learn everything. Then she handed me a stack of pamphlets.
My baby was crying. I was exhausted.
"How are you expected to just know how to do this?"
“For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me."
A few years later, everything changed.
When my sister had her baby, I showed up differently. While she was in the hospital, I prepared her home.
When she returned, I supported her, her husband, and their baby.And I watched them step into parenthood feeling calm, confident, and supported.
That’s when it clicked.
The difference was the support.
